My daughter and I had an amazing 1 week trip to Costa Rica in celebration of her 40th birthday. Rough guides asked and listened to our vacation goals and with a helpful brief back and forth dialogue, they put together an amazing itinerary that meet all of our objectives. From the transportation drivers, who picked us up at the airport and moved us to the 3 hotels chosen by Rough Guides (two in the rainforest and our last on the beach), then back to the airport for our departure. To the guides and providers (chosen through Rough Guides) of the seven adventures planned, we couldn't have asked for more friendly, professional and courteous service. I would recommend Rough Guides to any individual or group wanting to plan a vacation. We will be using their services again.

I stumbled on Rough Guides travel guide service by chance as I was struggling to organise a last minute two weeks away in Costa Rica for some much needed down time. The local travel agent was attentive to my requests, a delight to deal with and kept in touch throughout my time there which was much appreciated as I was travelling alone. I really liked the fact that he was running his own local agency. I was very impressed by how seamlessly the whole trip was organised. I had nothing to worry about even when some details were finalised at the last minute. Roberto offered a highly competent and reassuring service delivered with a smile and a joke. I had a wonderful time in a relaxing and stunning country. Highly recommended.

It was a relief to not have to worry about the details, especially the travel from Nosara to La Fortuna and then back to the airport in Liberia. It could have been sorted out once I was in Costa Rica but I prefer to have these sort of details lined up before I arrive. Rough Guides made the travel piece easy and stress free. I also appreciate that Roberto used a variety of tour operators for my time in La Fortuna. Being a solo traveler, Roberto had to do some changes on the fly to make sure I could do the planned activities, and he did that with ease.My only regret was time. I wish I could have spent another week (or more) exploring other areas of the country. There will definitely be a return trip in the years to come and hopefully Roberto will still be working with Rough Guides.
